Why I Wrote Purpose Driven

Purpose Driven was a book that was inspired by the experiences I had in 2017. 2017 was a very trying year for me because I knew I wanted to have a meaningful year. The challenges I faced in 2017 were: getting into the spoken word community, having to stop comparing myself to other people, finding worthwhile friendships and growing my audience online. This book tells all those struggles I had dealt with and how I was able to overcome them through finding purpose. I know so many people that are in that place because they hadn't figure themselves out yet. I know too many people who give up their passion for a simple 9-5 job just because it pays more, but they're aren't happy with their life: they constantly compare themselves to other people, hate their boss, hate their co-workers and wishing that they followed their dreams at 18 instead of listening to their parents. I knew I didn't want to spend the rest of my adult-life feeling sorry for myself. I knew that at 14 I wanted to travel, perform my poetry, inspire people and not have to commit myself to a person who wants to boss me around all-day. I knew I had to be patient and practical, so I began studying ways how can I grow an audience through social media while still keeping up with my school-work. By the time Fall semester hit, I knew that I would end this year off with a bang. I hope that this book would inspire you to really take a deep look at your life, and ask yourself "am I'm living a life of purpose or am I'm just living for a paycheck?"
